2008 SOFS-C Annual Employee Survey (AES) Briefing
The Defense Manpower Data Center (DMDC) has issued the 2008 AES Briefing on results from the 2008 Status of Forces Survey of DoD Civilian Employees (SOFS-C) that was completed in March 2008. This briefing includes results from the 40 OPM-mandated items according to the final rule at 5 CFR part 250, Federal Register, August 24, 2006 (Volume 71, Number 164)

2009 NSPS Pay Schedules Issued
The Department has issued the new 2009 NSPS pay schedules, effective January 4, 2009. The new schedules reflect a 1.74% increase to the pay band minimums and a 2.9% increase to pay band maximums, as well as updated Standard Local Market Supplement percentages, which are based on the 2009 General Schedule locality pay percentages. OPM Guidance on Use of HR Flexibilities in the Washington, DC, Area on Wednesday, January 21
The Federal Government plans to reopen on schedule on January 21, 2009. However, cleanup activities and post-inaugural events may cause some temporary street closures, traffic congestion, and disruptions in commuting patterns on January 21. This is an opportunity to emphasize the use of telework and flexible and compressed work schedules under the alternative work schedules (AWS) program.
