Goal 3
New Contractors to Manage Benefits Provided to Former Contractor Employees at Fernald, Mound, and Rocky Flats

As part of LM’s Goal 3 (supporting an effective and efficient work force to accomplish DOE’s missions and ensuring that contractor workers receive pensions and medical benefits), DOE Richland has indicated that the DOE Hanford contactors who currently sponsor the retiree-benefit programs for Fernald, Mound, and Rocky Flats will not be the successor contractors when the current contracts end on September 30, 2008. New contractors will be in place on October 1, 2008, and they will become the sponsors of the Fernald, Mound, and Rocky Flats retiree-benefit programs.

Questions regarding the benefit programs at Fernald, Mound, and Rocky Flats should be directed to Joyce Gilbert, Contractor Industrial Relations Lead, DOE Richland, until further notice. Ms. Gilbert can be contacted at joyce_n_gilbert@rl.gov or at (509) 376-2515.

This corresponds to Goal 3 of LM's Goals—
Support an effective and efficient work force structured to accomplish Departmental missions and assure contractor worker pension and medical benefits.
