Rating

What This Rating Means

PERFORMING
Moderately Effective

In general, a program rated Moderately Effective has set ambitious goals and is well-managed. Moderately Effective programs likely need to improve their efficiency or address other problems in the programs' design or management in order to achieve better results.
  • The program was evaluated in 2007 to determine how well it is accomplishing its mission. The evaluation focused on the Centers for Education and Research on Therapeutics (CERTs) that the program uses to produce research, and found that CERTs had good "centerness," the Coordinating Center did an effective job of communicating and coordinating CERTs, but noted limited collaboration between CERTs.
  • The program will continue to monitor the trends for the performance measures and aim for strategies to meet the targets.
