For male homicide victims, the number began at 776 in 1976 and fluctuates with a low of 703 as it increases to 850 in 1980. The number then decreased to 370 in 2000. It then fluctuates with a high of 434 as it increases to 386 in 2005.

For female homicide victims, the number began at 450 in 1976 and fluctuates with a low of 416 as it increases to 585 in 1987. After 1987, the number decreased to 302 in 2002, before rising to 331 in 2005.
