Continuing Education
Continuing education credit is available free of charge. The name of the
course for purposes of registration is "Hemochromatosis: What Every
Clinician and Health Care Professional Needs to Know (WB 3060)."
CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education Online
System
To receive CE credit:
If you have not registered for CE credit for this course—
- Go to the CDC/ATSDR
Training and Continuing Education Online. If you have not registered
as a participant, click on New Participant to create a user ID and
password; otherwise click on "Participant Login" and login.
- Once logged on to the CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education
Online Web site, you will be on the Participant Services page. Click on
"Search and Register." Under the Keyword or Course number search enter
WB3060 and click on view.
- Click on the course title. The course information page will come up.
Scroll down to Register Here. Click on the type of CE credit that you
would like to receive and then "Submit." Three demographic questions will
come up. Complete the questions and then "Submit."
- A message will come up thanking you for registering for the course.
You will then be prompted to complete the course evaluation. Complete the
evaluation and Submit. You will then be prompted to complete the posttest.
Complete the posttest and Submit. A record of your course completion will
be located in the Transcript and Certificate section of your record.
If you registered for CE credit on the CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing
Education Online system before completing this course—
- Go to the CDC/ATSDR
Training and Continuing Education Online. Click on "Participant Login"
and login.
- Once logged on to the CDC/ATSDR Training and Continuing Education
Online Web site, you will be on the Participant Services page. Click on
"Evaluations and Tests." Click on "Self-Study Courses. "
- The course will be listed. Click on "Evaluation/Posttest." You will then
be prompted to complete the course evaluation. Complete the evaluation and
"Submit." You will then be prompted to complete the posttest. Complete the
posttest and "Submit". A record of your course completion will be located in
the Transcript and Certificate section of your record.

Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME)
CME: CDC is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing
Medical Education (ACCME) to provide continuing medical education for
physicians.
CDC designates this educational activity for a maximum of 2.25 hours in
category 1 credits toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each
physician should claim only credit hours actually spent in the educational
activity.
American Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation
CNE: This activity for 2.5 contact hours is provided by CDC, which is
accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American
Nurses Credentialing Center Commission on Accreditation.
For self-study:
CDC is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the
American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) Commission on Accreditation.
ANCC credit is accepted by most state boards of nursing.
California: The California Board of Nursing will accept CDC's ANCC credit
for self-study courses. However, they will NOT accept ANCC credit for
courses offered in the state of California. When applying for relicensure
using ANCC credit, write in "AANCC self-study." A provider number is not
needed.
For self-study courses, special approval must be granted by the Iowa Board
of Nursing, which requires submission of a special post approval form for
self-study courses. You may obtain this form from the Iowa Board of Nursing.

International Association for Continuing Education and Training
CEU: The CDC has been reviewed and approved as an Authorized Provider by
the International Association for Continuing Education and Training (IACET),
8405 Greensboro Drive, Suite 800, McLean, VA 22102. The CDC has awarded 0.2
of CEU’s to participants who successfully complete this program.
National Commission for Health Education Credentialing
CECH: CDC is a designated provider of continuing education contact hours (CECH)
in health education by the National Commission for Health Education
Credentialing, Inc. This program is a designated event for the CHES to
receive 2.0 category 1 contact hours in health education, CDC provider
