Disease Surveillance

IEIP sites conduct population-based surveillance to track diseases of global public health importance and detect unusual changes in trends that may signal an outbreak.

Objectives of this activity are:

Currently, IEIP sites conduct surveillance for one or more diseases or syndromes, including pneumonia, influenza, diarrhea, febrile illness, jaundice, and neurologic disease.
