National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey Methods: What Clinicians Need to Know (Web-based)
Course Number: WB3142
The National Ambulatory Medical Care Survey (NAMCS) yields national estimates of office-based practice parameters that appear in the peer-reviewed literature. It is important for physicians and nurses to understand the survey methodology so that they can read these reports critically. This educational module will be a web-based presentation of key concepts, interspersed with quiz questions after each concept to reinforce learning. A practice session on patient record abstraction onto the NAMCS will be included. The participant will log into the CDC Public Health Training Network (PHTN), read the didactic material on-line, and complete the quizzes electronically. Correct responses will be reinforced. Incorrect responses will lead to a re-presentation of the concept to reinforce learning.
