Method for Producing Metallic Nanoparticles

Abstract
A method for producing metallic nanoparticles with a controlled size distribution well below 100 nanometer diameter.

Application(s)

  • Conducting paints and inks
  • Pyrotechnics and explosives
  • Catalysts
  • Magnetic storage

Advantages
This process offers significant advantages over other techniques including:

  • Produces very high purity materials
  • Relatively tight size distribution (see graph below)
  • Continuous, non-batch process Inexpensive raw materials with little to no scrap/effluent
  • Easily scaleable
  • Low capital costs
