The Family Planning, STD, & HIV Programs receive federal funding to support testing, treatment and prevention services for Idaho’s reportable sexually transmitted infections, including:

Get Tested

Sex Partner Treatment of Chlamydia and Gonorrhea Infections

All partners of patients who test positive for Chlamydia or Gonorrhea should be treated as if they are infected.

If a physician takes responsibility to ensure partner treatment, the provider should examine and treat all of the persons the patient had sex with in the 60 days prior to the date the patient was tested. If this is not possible, patients may be given medication to give to their sex partners. This is called Expedited Partner Therapy (EPT). More information about EPT can be found at the CDC's website http://www.cdc.gov/std/ept/ and patient handouts for EPT can be accessed here.

Services are administered through contracts with District Health Departments and community-based organizations throughout Idaho. The Ryan White Part B AIDS Drug Assistance Program (ADAP) and coverage of other direct care services are administered directly through the STD/AIDS Program.

Information concerning additional common sexually transmitted diseases can be viewed here.

Ryan White Care Act
Application form for requesting services under the Ryan White Title II program.
Beginning in 1991, the Ryan White CARE Act supported HIV/AIDS case management as a core component to the delivery of HIV services, and in fact, mandates case management in rural communities under Title II.
HIV Prevention Provider Tools
The Family Planning, STD and HIV Programs contract with agencies such as District Health Departments and community-based organizations to provide HIV prevention interventions/ programs. Contractors receiving HIV prevention funds are required to collect data for contract monitoring and evaluation purposes. The provider toolbox offers links to required monitoring forms for all HIV prevention intervention categories including Health Education and Risk Reduction group- and individual-level interventions, PCM, and Outreach.
