| U.S. Air Force airmen use a K-loader and a forklift to unload cargo from a C-141 Starlifter on the ramp at the Libreville International Airport, Republic of Gabon, on March 24, 1997. Command and support elements for a forward joint task force and other enabling elements are deploying to locations in several West African countries as part of contingency planning for a possible future evacuation from Zaire. The deployment is an enhancement to planning for contingency measures to ensure the security of U.S. citizens in Zaire if an evacuation should become necessary. The aircraft is deployed from McChord Air Force Base, Wash.
