Early Hearing Detection & Intervention (EHDI) Program

Information for Organizations and Programs about Radio Public Service Announcements (PSAs) in Spanish

Media is a powerful influence on the world around us. By using the media to gain the attention of parents about the importance of newborn hearing screening and follow up if a hearing loss is detected, you can encourage them to act early and receive help for their child to develop communication and language skills that will last a lifetime.

We would like for your organization or program to be recognized as a resource in your respective areas, and as such, we hope you use these Spanish radio PSAs as an outreach tool to your community.

To help you in your efforts to get the Spanish radio PSA played in your area, we have developed a Step-by-Step PSA Placement Guide. You may also find this list of Hispanic radio stations to be helpful.  (Please note: The list of Hispanic radio states link is a PDF and is a non-government website and is not 508 compliant.)

Additionally, we have developed a letter (available in English or Spanish) for you to send to radio stations encouraging them to play the PSA. You can paste it in an e-mail to the radio stations. It includes the link to download the radio PSAs.

Once a radio station has expressed interest in playing the PSA, use this form to let us know about your efforts so that we can keep track of when and where the PSA is being played. You can email it: EHDI@cdc.gov or fax it: 404-498-3050.
