WASHINGTON   –  U.S. Rep. Jo Ann Emerson (MO-08) today asked residents of the Eighth Congressional District to be extremely aware of the limitations on their credit cards as the credit crisis continues.

“In many cases, interest rates on consumer debts are going to rise as a consequence of the locked-up credit markets,” Emerson said.  “Credit card companies may also lower credit limits on the cards they back.  It is always important to stay informed about any changes in your credit card agreement and the terms of your credit cards, but this is an especially sensitive time for consumer debt when changes may happen quickly.”
