Task Force on Homeland Security Archive |
As chair of the Democratic Task Force on Homeland Security, I have been examining the fundamental question: are we doing all we can to secure our hometowns and our nation? The terrorist attacks of September 11th sent a clear message to every American that securing our homeland to the best of our abilities is an immediate necessity. The Task Force goes to the ground level to ask the men and women on the front-lines of securing our hometowns if security has improved and if serious gaps remain. The task force looks for concrete examples of successes and failures to determine whether our families and hometowns are as secure as possible, right now. Based upon its findings, the Task Force will champion the most effective proposals to keep Americans safe from terrorism.
