2005 EIA Midterm Energy Outlook and Modeling Conference

The Energy Information Administration will host its 13th annual Midterm Energy Outlook and Modeling Conference on April 12, 2005, at the Renaissance Hotel, 999 Ninth Street, NW, Washington, DC, 20001, near the Gallery Place Metro station.  The conference includes speakers and attendees from Federal and State governments, private industry, and trade associations, discussing energy issues related to EIA’s Annual Energy Outlook 2005, which forecasts energy supply demand and prices out to 2025, and the National Energy Modeling System used to generate the forecasts.

Topics covered include conventional and unconventional oil production, siting issues for LNG receiving terminals, electric power sector emissions issues, challenges facing refineries such as adjusting to changes in crude oil composition, expectations for unconventional natural gas production, expectations for the nuclear industry, the challenges facing hydrogen vehicles, and the implications of state renewable energy incentives.  The conference program and a complete list of the speakers is available at:

Handouts provided in advance by the conference speakers will begin to be posted online March 29, 2005, at www.eia.doe.gov/oiaf/aeo/conf/handouts.html in lieu of being provided at the conference.
