INNOVATION
The Trick Simulation Development Environment (or Trick for short) is a set of software utilities that allow users to rapidly develop, integrate, and operate simulations based on the specific requirements of their application problem domain.

GOVERNMENT/SCIENCE APPLICATIONS (CON'T)
Engineering Analysis

  1. ER/Six-Degree- of-Freedom (DOF) Dynamic Test System (SDTS) - real-time 6 DOF hardware-in-the-loop simulator used for docking and berthing test studies (refer to Figure 1).

  2. ER/SRMS Subsystem Management - non-real-time analytical simulation used for the evaluation of proposed flight hardware and software upgrades such as the digital Servo Power Amplifier and incremental updates of the Functional Subsystem Software Requirements (e.g., OI-26).

  3. ER/Autonomous EVA Robotic Camera (AERCam) Sprint - orbital environment test bed for free flying camera avionics development in support of an upcoming Detailed Test Objective (DTO) flight test.

  4. OB/EVRAIT - non-real-time SSRMS and Mobile Transporter simulations for ISS Design Analysis Cycles and Joint CSA/NASA Simulation Team technical evaluations and support.

Mission Planning
  1. ER/Space Station Assembly Analysis and Verification-non-real-time analytical simulations of both the SRMS and SSRMS, payloads, and associated attachment or berthing mechanisms.
  2. DF/Robotics Planning System (RPS) - kinematic fidelity SRMS and SSRMS simulations for mission design activities and procedures development.

Training
  1. ER/Simplified Aid for EVA Rescue (SAFER) Trainer - real-time avionics-in-the-loop trainer for crew familiarization and flight specific training.

  2. ER/Systems Engineering Simulator (SES) - upgrade of existing Encore computer systems to Silicon Graphics workstations for rehost of the Space Craft Dynamic Simulation providing on-orbit Shuttle, Mir, and ISS operations, training, and engineering support

  3. ER/Integrated EVA/SRMS Virtual Reality (VR) Facility - training fidelity SRMS simulation and 6 DOF mass handling robots for integrated EVA/SRMS procedures development and planning.

  4. SP/Neutral Buoyancy Laboratory- MRMDF-style SSRMS simulation to provide operators with representative control of the underwater hydraulic manipulator.
