As the founder and Chair of the Congressional Ethiopia and Ethiopian American Caucus, I am proud to present a website dedicated to collecting the most updated information regarding the activities of the Caucus. Please feel free to contact the other Members of the Ethiopia Caucus, and encourage your friends and family to share their interests in Ethiopia and this Caucus with their Member of Congress. (Find your Representative)

I visited in Ethiopia in 2005, and it was an experience that changed my life. I am committed, more than ever, to strengthen a long-established relationship between Ethiopia and the United States.

Ethiopian Americans are the largest immigrant group from the African continent. Among the best educated and most productive work force, Ethiopian Americans extend themselves to every aspect of American society, thereby making a real impact on American culture. It is for that reason that I have created a briefing series, where Members of Congress and Capitol Hill staffers are invited to learn more about Ethiopian American concerns, and get a taste of Ethiopian culture.

The fundamental motivation behind the creation of the Ethiopia Caucus is that I am compelled to formally help create a voice for the specific concerns of the Ethiopian American community. I am honored to be entrusted with the responsibility of leading this Caucus in it's work to represent Ethiopian American concerns on Capitol Hill.
