I originally added my telephone number to the do-not-call list because I understood that doing so would eliminate most, if not all, the telemarketing calls I would receive. I object to allowing telemarketers to use pre-recorded messages, even where there is an existing business relationship. I block spam in my email, ads on the internet, and I use Tivo to skip ads on the television. I certainly am not interested in getting ads over the phone. Forcing a company to use a real-live person to call me increases their cost, and reduces the temptation to call in the first place. There is no legitimate use, in my mind, for a pre-recorded message. This change to your rules is a betrayal of the public trust, and is an outrage. You should be making the telemarketer's job harder, not easier.
