The FTC is considering opening a big loophole in the "do not call" registry. The proposal is to allow "pre-recorded message telemarketing" which is the very worst kind of telemarketing - the kind that you goes on your voicemail or answering machine if you don't intercept it and cut it off. "This is intended to bring FTC rules in line with FCC rules which permit this." Rather it is the FCC rules that should be brought in line with FTC rules.
