I have recently become aware of the efforts of Allen Hile to open a loophole in the National Do Not Call list that would allow telemarketers to legally contact listed numbers using pre-recorded messages. This is absolutely ridiculous. It flies in the face of everything the Do Not Call list was set up to do - stop telemarketers from calling consumers who do not wish for their sales pitches. I do not understand how a decision like this can even be considered. Please keep the Do Not Call List intact and strong, and do not weaken it at the benefit of telemarketers and the deficit of the citizens you are charged with helping.
