FREE PHONES FOR SENIORS

SPECIAL 911 PHONES

Brooklyn, NY - Congressman Anthony D. Weiner (D-Brooklyn & Queens) today announced that free cell phones with 911 emergency access are available to senior citizens in Brooklyn and Queens. Thanks to the efforts of Phones for Life, the phones, which were donated by local residents, have been programed to dial 911.

Senior Citizens interested in obtaining an application for a free cell phone can call the Congressman’s district office at 718-332-9001. Severity of medical conditions, greatness of age, and degree of disability are considerations used to prioritize eligible seniors.

“This is a terrific program that will allow seniors to feel more secure about living and traveling independently.” said Weiner.

A special thanks from Congressman Weiner and the Phones for Life organization to all those who contributed to this program by donating their used cell phone. Others who would like to donate a used cell phone, can do so by dropping them off or mailing them to Congressman Weiner’s office at 1901 Emmons Ave Suite 212, Brooklyn, NY 11235.
