About Physical Examinations
Medical screening and surveillance are valuable tools in workplace safety. Screening tests are administered to at risk employees,before symptoms appear,with the fundamental purpose for early diagnosis and treatment of the person. Medical surveillance refers to the systematic collection, analysis and dissemination of health information on groups of workers such as hearing threshold shift or blood lead levels. A physical exam is utilized as a component of medical screening, surveillance and/or job certification exam.
