Washington, D.C., has a moderate climate with humid
summers typical of the mid-Atlantic, east coast area of the United
States. If you plan to visit between April and October, bring lightweight
clothing. However, a sweater or a jacket is advisable even for midsummer
visitors since most Washington buildings are air-conditioned. Because
winters in Washington can be quite cold, warm clothing is recommended
from November through March. An umbrella is a suggested item for any
time of the year. Comfortable walking shoes are a must at all times. |
