Augie Nelson is a Healer from Kotzebue who describes himself as follows: A little summary about what I do as a Tribal Doctor. I am not your regular Tribal Doctor who is trained by the old Traditional healers. I got into healing to help my wife who was really sick and the Western Doctor's couldn't heal or fix her up with the pills. When I figured out her illness was a circulation problem, which I fixed and got her health back it snowballed from there. That was 20 years ago. I have been working and training ever since as a Tribal Doctor for Maniilaq Medical Center.
