Hi all,
I wondered how ESL learners would handle this and decided to have my
high intermediate/advanced Reading for ESL class read it.

Thought some of you might be interested in what happened. Within
seconds I saw smiles and noted many "got it" immediately. I was not sure
if all understood, so I asked a few to read what they saw aloud, which
they did with no problem. I tried to get a sense of how many really
understood and it seemed most, if not all, did.

We had just done some activities on working out vocabulary in context,
although not the same skill, my sense was that it seemed to give them
confidence to know that they could read it. They did agree that if they
were beginners, they would not be able to do it.
