To Sylvan Rainwater:
Thank you so much for reading and replying to my post.
(One often doesn't know if one's words are ever
read!) You and I, alas, will never agree on certain
points.

You say, what if a family HAS TO enter another
country illegally and work in order to survive? I
say, there are millions of people in that situation
around the world, and they can't ALL be allowed into
the US, Canada, Sweden, or England, as they seem to
want, can they?

You say, they have to be given free medical care if
they are here. Well, pardon my French, #$%^#@! I
don't get free or employer-paid medical care in my
line of work, and I can't afford insurance, so I have
to hope to heaven that I don't need to see a doctor.
When I worked in Europe, I lived in some countries
that had national health care, and IF I had a work
permit, I could see a doctor free.

You say, should we just tighten the borders? It
sounds as if you are referring to Mexico.
Sylvan, I lived in Mexico many years ago and I have a
sentimental link to that country, its culture and its
people. But I don't think we can solve Mexico's
problems by inviting everyone to come here. Mexico
controlling its population growth would be a start to
a solution.
