Cynthia, I think this example of what happened to your colleague is very
timelyand pertinent and a concern to all of us as to to what we all might
to deal with from time to time. I, for one, found this situation  quite
interesting.  It has made me think ,quite frankly,  about what I would do if
I were to be approached and to realize that there ARE people on the other
side of my fence who feel as strongly as I do about this issue.      I do
understand why she accepted the money ,altho I myself may not have. To be
short of teaching materials is really quite frusterating. They dangled a
carrot before her eyes.  I might however,  have questioned them further as
to why they were being so generous.....sort of like asking ......" what is
this manna from heaven really all about???"
