Any suggestions on parenting materials to use during ESL class with Spanish-speaking migrants in our Even Start family literacy program?
Amanda Wendt mentioned a Family Reading book a while back.  What is that?

In our EvenStart program, each classroom teacher is pretty much responsible
for choosing the curriculum that they feel will work best for them and the
students. I teach adult ESL and my class is low-level. I chose the
LifePrints series, available from New Reader's Press, because it is easy
enough for even my lowest level students to follow, but still has challenges
for the upper level learners in my class. We supplement the lessons in
LifePrints with activities from the Oxford Picture Dictionary, available in
most of my student's languages. I really try and focus on survival skills
English and less on the grammatical aspect, although I tie it in when I can!
Each chapter in LifePrints focuses on a life skill that is useful to my
students, but each chapter also ends with a page or two on a particular
grammar skill.
After the first of the year, I'm going to start introducing the Family
Reading series, also from New Reader's Press, as part of our parenting and
PACT time.
Hope that helps!

Greetings!
I'm interested in what types of curriculum are being used across the US. If
anyone is willing to share their program's information the questions I have
are:
1. What type of curriculum is your program using?
2. How was it determined to use this curriculum?
3. What is the focus of your curriculum for your students?
Thanks for your help! I hope everyone has a very happy holiday season.
