Economy

• Homeownership and the Foreclosure Crisis In response to the housing and mortgage crisis, Congressman Wexler and his colleagues on the Financial Services Committee have acted to help homeowners facing foreclosure and make US businessees more accountable to shareholders and consumers.
• Homeowners' Insurance Homeowners' Insurance: Congressman Wexler believes that the federal government must take action to assist Florida homeowners faced with rising insurance costs and an increasing number of insurance policy cancellations.

Health Care and Social Security

• Medicare Reform and Prescription Drugs To ensure that America’s seniors receive the best possible health care that this government can offer, Congressman Wexler has filed legislation that caps Medicare Part D premium increases and reduces the cost of prescription drugs.
• Protecting Social Security and Notch Relief Protecting Social Security and Notch Relief: Congressman Wexler believes in the soundness of Social Security, has introduced his own plan to ensure Social Security’s solvency, and is working to provide financial reparations to those unfairly penalized “Notch Babies” born between 1917 and 1926.

Voting and Civil Rights

• Election Reform and Paper Trail Congressman Wexler believes that Congress must ensure that the American election system is the most accurate and fair in the world, and that fixing the election system in America must continue to be a top national priority.
• Restoring the Balance of Powers and Protecting Civil Liberties Congressman Wexler believes that security must not come at the expense of core American values or our civil liberties.
• Gay/Lesbian Rights Congressman Wexler feels that all Americans should enjoy the freedoms guaranteed by our Constitution and that prejudice based on sexual orientation is no different than prejudice against religion or race.
• A Woman's Right to Choose Congressman Wexler firmly believes that a woman’s constitutional right to choose what she does with her body, free from governmental intrusion, must be protected and guaranteed for all women.
• Anti-Semitism and Holocaust-related Issues As a member of the Congressional Task Force Against Anti-Semitism, Congressman Wexler has made combating the growth of anti-Semitism in America, Europe and the Middle East a top priority.

Foreign Policy

• Iraq Congressman Wexler strongly supports the brave men and women in our military who have risked their lives in Iraq, though he believes that it is unacceptable for this Administration to continue to pursue a misguided policy that is not in the security interest of the nation.
• Israel and the Middle East As a senior member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Congressman Wexler is a stalwart advocate for the unbreakable bond between the United States and Israel and Israel’s right to self defense.
• Darfur Congressman Wexler is deeply concerned about the mass killings, rape, displacement and starvation of the people in Darfur, which represents one of the most pressing humanitarian crises in the world today.

Environment and Energy

• Energy Independence Congressman Wexler believes that America must focus on long-term balanced solutions to meet our nation's energy needs.
• Environment and Climate Change Congressman Wexler’s record for protecting and preserving the environment is among the strongest in the Florida Congressional delegation, and ensuring the protection of our natural resources is a major priority of his.

Veterans To ensure that American service members do not become forgotten heroes, Congressman Wexler is a strong advocate for housing relief and improved healthcare for our nation’s veterans.

Homeland Security Congressman Wexler believes that the US must continue to improve the security of our airports, seaports, borders, utilities, and communications by investing in research and new technology while preserving the constitutional rights of our citizens.
