(1) I think if you wish to moderate, you should stay on list. I don't
welcome offlist posts from people most of the time unless they are really
about something I'm discussing. And yours was an e-mail that asserted some
sort of authority and then reproved me.  If you wish to reprove me as a
member of the list, do so on the list.

(2) Advocacy is a part of my life as a teacher, and never will I think it is
inappropriate. I don't think one can ever be too 'aggressive' when the issue
is something like peace vs. war. O.K., I'm an offensive, aggressive
peacemongering peacenik or something--a bit easier to take than threats of
physical violence, something that peace advocates face all the time . For
the most part when replying to John I was on topic and to the point of the
matter being discussed.

(3) Also, if I said your response is 'asinine' or called you by a nickname
even though I don't know you or something, that would be
insulting and not good etiquette. But such vocabulary and tactics were
limited to John's posts and were not a part of mine.
