Guilford Technical Community College in Greensboro and Alamance
Community College in Burlington should each have an ESL program AND a
program called Human Resources Development (HRD). The ESL classes are
free, and the HRD classes are free to anyone who is unemployed. The HRD
program is a job readiness program that provides a variety of job
readiness classes. In addition to instruction, career counseling and
job placement assistance are provided by the HRD program. The colleges'
websites are http://technet.gtcc.cc.nc.us/ (Guilford) and
http://www.alamance.cc.nc.us/newsite/ (Alamance). Hope this helps.

Hello,

I am looking for ESL classes in the Burlington and/or Greensboro, NC
areas. I am trying to assist a woman who would like to attend classes.
In addition, she is in need of some social services as well (job
placement, counseling). As a result, the ideal situation would be to
find a CBO which provides a combination of services to the community.
She is from Nicaragua, so any information about agencies with bilingual
spanish/english staff would be best.

If you know of anything in these areas, or even something in
neighboring areas, would you mind sharing?

Thanks for your time and assistance.
