AIRS Data Available in netCDF
Aqua AIRS data products are now available in NetCDF from the Goddard Earth Sciences Data and Information Services Center (GES DISC). An on-the-fly HDF-EOS to NetCDF/CF1 converter has been developed for AIRS Level 2 (scene) and AIRS Level 3 (global grid) profiles of moisture, air temperature and trace gases and is available through the GES DISC data search and retrieval interface (Mirador). AIRS products available in NetCDF include Level 2 standard and support products as well as all Level 3 standard products (daily, 8-day, monthly).
Every attempt has been made to ensure that the converted files are compliant with the NetCDF Climate and Forecast (CF) Metadata Conventions. AIRS Level 3 gridded data in NetCDF are easy to open, read and use in such NetCDF-capable tools as IDV, McIDAS-V, GrADS and Panoply. AIRS Level 2 data in NetCDF include more complex geographic data structures and are designed primarily for use in IDV and McIDAS-V.
