Financial Rescue 2008
Introduction | Press Releases | Legislation
On October 3, 2008, Congress passed and the President signed the Emergency Stabilization Act of 2008.  This legislation authorized the Secretary of the Treasury and the Chairman of the Federal Reserve to take dramatic steps to help stabilize our economy.

As the Chair of the Financial Services Subcommittee on Financial Institutions and Consumer Credit and as a Senior Member of the Oversight and Government Reform Committee I will be working with my colleagues to examine the causes of this crisis and work towards implementing the necessary oversight and regulation needed to prevent any reoccurrence.

Please check back to this page for updates as Congress continues its work regarding this situation.
