Hiking/ATV/Bicycle/Equestrian Trails
Mark Twain National Forest offers a wide variety of trails covering some 742 miles including the 44-mile water trail that coincides with the Eleven Point Scenic River. Trails differ greatly in length and difficulty. A few are restricted to hikers only, but many are open to mountain bikes and horses, and two areas are set managed for ATV and motorcycle enthusiasts, Chadwick and Sutton Bluff.
Visitors to the Mark Twain National Forest come to enjoy its beauty, with friends and family or alone. Those who value what Nature alone can provide are asked to make a commitment to protect and preserve the forest, its rivers, lakes, and trails.
The Leave No Trace program has techniques that visitors can use to help reduce evidence
of their presence. Visit their web site at www.LNT.org/ for more information.
