Lee Mann (Tech specialist for the NIFL List Serves) has Emailed me a few
tips on the blank messages that seem to pop up every now and then.

1. Typically, blank messages are caused by the sending of MIME encoded or
formatted email. The list server processes them just fine but what happens
is that some recipients email clients (the program on your computer that
does your Email for you) do not understand MIME encoded messages so they
appear as blank messages.

2. Be sure to send "plain text" messages to the list.

3. List users also need to be sure that they send "plain text" messages when
replying to a list message. In most cases, if the message they are replying
to is plain text they'll be just fine, but if the message they are replying
to is MIME encoded (this assumes that their email client could display MIME
encoded messages) they'll send out a MIME encoded message. Most email
clients allow you to set the message format by message or as a global
setting. (in Outlook - Tools - Options - Mail Format - Message Format pull
down menu, choose plain text)

Lee knows his stuff - I hope this helps!
