Ted,

Yes, I believe people can go out and take an idea and make it work.  "My" 
school had an apprentice teaching program since the 1920's I believe.  I was 
an apprentice myself and got a job there when the program finished. Many of 
the teachers there are "directing teachers," I was one, too. Because the 
school program is an accredited program for getting a master's and a teaching 
certificate, I think probably news of this method will spread further and may 
influence other educational programs. 

i think it is crucial for student success that schools and parents work 
together on mutual goals.  A lot of schools give it lip service and don't go 
beyond that.  As I said, I learned it when I got my maser's as a useful 
technique.
