Subject: [NIFL-FAMILY:1286] New Trends and Issues Alerts

Good morning,

The ERIC Clearinghouse on Adult, Career, and Vocational Education has just
published four new Trends and Issues Alerts.

Metacognitive Skills for Adult Learning (39) by Susan Imel describes some
of the trends related to metacognitive skills for adult learners and
provides a list of resources for further information.

Career Clusters (38) by Mike Wonacott reviews current trends and issues in
using career clusters as a means of broadening the focus of secondary
education, particularly career and technical education, as preparation for
both further education and work.

E-Learning by Susan Imel looks at the rapid growth of e-learning and at the
questions regarding who benefits and who is left out of it.

International Career Development Trends by Sandra Kerka looks at common
concerns regarding the ethical, equity, and quality issues of career
development on the Internet; the need for current, accessible labor market
information; and stronger links between education and employment and
between the career development field and policymakers.

Subscribers to ERICACVE (http://ericacve.org/listserv.asp) have already
received their copies via e-mail. The publications are free and available
in PDF, paper, and as e-mail messages. To request copies, please send a
message to ericacve@osu.edu and indicate the format you prefer. Please DO
NOT RESPOND TO THE LISTSERV!

They will be available on our website (ericacve.org) within a week.

Again, send your requests to ericacve@osu.edu

Judy
