EPA and Partners Geospatial Metadata Implementation Project
Award Number 08HQAG0031, Category 1: Metadata Trainer and Outreach Assistance
This project will provide participants with hands-on instruction to help them implement the Federal Geographic Data Committee’s (FGDC) Content Standard for Digital Geospatial Metadata (CSDGM) and the NAP of the ISO 19115/19139 metadata standard and to set up a means for sharing their information. The project will include one interactive one-day training session that will be held at EPA Headquarters in Washington DC, along with eight web-based training sessions following the FGDC Metadata Curriculum. The training sessions will be conducted for both new users and for more experienced metadata developers. This will be followed by provision of on-going support for attendees who require additional post-training consultation. Training materials will be made available at EPA’s website and will be provided to FGDC in digital format. Innovate will provide access to their registered clearinghouse for the publishing and harvesting of metadata via EPA’s clearinghouse.
