Key leaders from the community and the medical and government sectors will come together to determine strategies for closing the gap between physicians and patients. Dr. David Satcher, former United States Surgeon General, will deliver the opening Keynote Address. Distinguished presenters include representatives from Congress, and medical and community organizations. Dr. C. Everett Koop, former United States Surgeon General, will provide the workshop summary and charge to action. This workshop is part of a larger project, "Communication in Health Care Project," a major initiative of The CHEST Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the American College of Chest Physicians.
