WASHINGTON, D.C. – Congressman Robert Aderholt (R-Haleyville) today offered the following statement on the opening of the Future I-22’s link between Graysville and Jasper.

“Corridor X and I-22 have long been a dream for the western part of Alabama’s 4th District. It holds great promise for the region and the state. With the opening of this section between Jasper and Graysville, we are seeing that dream become reality. While there is still work to be done to complete the entire Corridor X project all the way to I-65, today puts us one step closer to that day.

I believe that a strong transportation system is critical to the economic growth of Alabama. For years, this project has been one of my greatest priorities. That we’re finally at this point is a real testament to the work that can happen when state and federal officials work together for the good of our area.

While it’s been a long road, it’s one that will prove to be well worth the journey.”
