P R O C E E D I N G S
CHAIRMAN MESERVE: This is an affirmation session. I believe we have one item before us. Madam Secretary, you may proceed. MS. VIETTI-COOK: The Commission is being asked to act on a Memorandum and Order responding to Citizen's Awareness Network's (CAN) motions related to the license transfer of the Vermont Yankee Nuclear Power Station. The Commission has voted to approve a Memorandum and Order which denies CAN's motion to stay the effectiveness of the NRC staff's order, approving the license transfer, denies CAN's request for an investigation, and grants CAN's motion for clarification. Would you please affirm your votes? CHAIRMAN MESERVE: Aye. COMMISSIONER DICUS: Aye. COMMISSIONER MERRIFIELD: Aye. MS. VIETTI-COOK: Also, Commissioners Diaz and McGaffigan had previously voted to approve this order, and had they been present, they would have affirmed their prior votes. CHAIRMAN MESERVE: Are there any other matters? MS. VIETTI-COOK: No. [Whereupon, at 11:50 a.m., the affirmation session was adjourned.] 5
