AN Artistic Discovery Art Competition

Welcome to California’s 26th Congressional District Artistic Discovery
web page.  I hope this information assists both high school students and
art teachers in obtaining immediate information on contest guidelines and information on the artistic discovery program, and the required student information entry form.

“An Artistic Discovery” is the annual nationwide Congressional High School Art Competition conducted by Members of the U.S. House of Representatives.  This competition provides Members and the public an opportunity to encourage and recognize the artistic talents of young American high school students.  Each Congressional District hosts their own competition and the winner’s artwork will join the work of other high school artists from across the nation at a year long public exhibit in the Cannon Tunnel leading to the U.S. Capitol. Also, there will be a local winner, whose artwork will be exhibited in Congressman David Dreier’s local San Dimas office.

Each high school in the 26th Congressional District received a letter of invitation, guidelines and rules in February of 2008.   Judging will take place during the week of April 7th and the winners will be announced on April 19, 2008 during an awards ceremony at the Congressman’s District Office located at 510 East Foothill Boulevard, Suite 201, San Dimas.

If you are interested in participating in this exciting competition, you may contact your high school art teacher or Cheryl Lynn in Congressman Dreier’s office at 909-575-6226 or 888-906-2626.
