Ellsworth Announces Initiative to G.R.O.W. Indiana Communities
WASHINGTON - Working to grow and strengthen 8th District communities, Rep. Brad Ellsworth today announced a new initiative to bring more Federal grant dollars to Indiana. The Grant Resources On the Web (G.R.O.W.) initiative is designed to inform District organizations and government entities about funding opportunities from the Federal government and non-governmental organizations that may be available to them.
"Each year billions of dollars are distributed in federal grant money to institutions and organizations throughout the country," said Ellsworth. "The 8th District's outstanding colleges and universities, non-profit organizations and local governments are well-qualified to compete for these funds. By working together, I hope we can bring more of these dollars to Indiana."
To participate, organizations and entities must sign-up to receive Ellsworth's G.R.O.W. newsletter, a regularly updated list of available grants from the Federal government and non-governmental organizations. An updated list of funding opportunities will be delivered to participants' inboxes every few weeks. Interested parties can sign-up online at Ellsworth's Grants Resource Center at: http://www.ellsworth.house.gov/.
The Grants Resource Center also contains valuable online resources for grant seekers with tips on writing an effective grant proposal and important information about the grant application process. In addition, Ellsworth and his staff are ready to assist 8th District organizations and entities through the application process.
"There are too many missed funding opportunities simply because people are not aware of what's out there," said Ellsworth. "My G.R.O.W. initiative will ensure people have the information they need to compete for and win these dollars to strengthen and grow our communities."
