Dreier Welcomes Rose Parade Officials to Washington, D.C.

October 19, 2005

WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas, CA), Chairman of the House Rules Committee, welcomed Libby Evans Wright, Pasadena Tournament of Roses president, to his Capitol office today. Wright was in Washington to formally introduce Supreme Court Justice Sandra Day O’Connor as the Grand Marshal for the 2006 Tournament of Roses Parade, a choice Dreier praised.

"Justice O’Connor will be a superlative Grand Marshal," Dreier said. "It was a genuine thrill to be with her and Ms. Wright at the official introduction yesterday. Justice O’Connor and I talked about the magic of the parade and her excitement about beginning her retirement by participating in this time honored tradition. I know that Pasadena will give her and her family a very warm welcome at the Rose Parade and the Rose Bowl Game."
