Dreier Applauds Federal Grant for
La Canada-Flintridge Flood Repairs
May 23, 2005
WASHINGTON, DC - Congressman David Dreier (R-San Dimas) applauded the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) today for obligating a $1.4 million grant to the City of La Canada-Flintridge to repair road damage that occurred during the storms of December 27, 2004 - January 11, 2005. The total amount of the project is $1.8 million, with the state and city contributing the remaining 25 percent. The grant is possible because on February 4, 2005, President Bush declared Los Angeles County eligible for public and individual assistance for damages that occurred during the storms. Dreier lead the bipartisan California Congressional Delegation in calling on the President for expedited approval on February 1, 2005.
“The Administration has rightfully recognized the need we have in La Canada-Flintridge,” Dreier said. “I am very thankful they have come through with this funding so that the city can be reimbursed for this road repair work. It is a great example of state, local, and federal officials working together to make Inverness Road functional again.”
