Congressman Dreier Names Academy Nominees

January 15, 2008

Congressman David Dreier (R‑San Dimas, CA) today announced the names of his nominees to the United States Air Force, Military, Naval and Merchant Marine Academies.

Nominated to attend the U.S. Air Force Academy at Colorado Springs, Colorado are: Kristian Barber-Sierra Madere, Sara Bertic-Rancho Cucamonga, James Dunlop-San Dimas, Adam Evenson-Wrightwood, James French-Claremont, Tommy Looney-Rancho Cucamonga, Natalie Shen-Walnut, Jacob Tronaas-Alta Loma, Grant Williams-Glendora and Eugene Yip-Pasadena.

Nominated to attend the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, New York are: Kristian Barber-Sierra Madre, Sara Bertic-Rancho Cucamonga, Jin Ah Chun-Rancho Cucamonga, Reanna Johnson-Rancho Cucamonga, Ryan Johnson-Rancho Cucamonga, Zachary Johnson-Rancho Cucamonga, Douglas Kang-La Crescenta, Anthony Rivera-Upland, Natalie Shen-Walnut and Jeffery Tsai-Walnut.

Nominated to attend the U.S. Naval Academy at Annapolis, Maryland are: Holly Berger-Claremont, Jeffrey Davis-La Verne, James French-Claremont, Victoria Gongwer-Glendora, Steven Johnson-Upland, Douglas Kang-La Crescenta and Jason Liu-Rancho Cucamonga.

Nominated to attend the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy at Kings Point, New York are: Holly Berger-Claremont, Sara Bertic-Rancho Cucamonga, Louis Brooks-Montclair, Jeffrey Davis-La Verne, James French-Claremont, Victoria Gongwer-Glendora, Douglas Kang-La Crescenta, Natalie Shen-Walnut, Jacob Tronaas-Alta Loma and Grant Williams-Glendora.

"I am pleased to nominate these young people," said Dreier, "They are an incredibly talented and dedicated group.  Each would give outstanding service to our nation as a military officer."

The nominees will compete with other nominees from around the nation for the available positions in the class that will enter in July of 2008.
