Bilirakis to be Honored by Blinded Veterans Group PDF Print E-mail

On Thursday, Gus will receive the Foundation’s George “Buck” Gillispie Award for Meritorious Service from the Blinded American Veterans Foundation (BAVF).

From today's Washington Post...

The Blinded American Veterans Foundation will honor Reps. Ike Skelton (D-Mo.), chairman of the House Armed Services Committee, and Gus Bilirakis (R-Fla.), a member of the House Veterans Affairs Committee, at the group's 23rd annual congressional awards reception Thursday.

In a press release announcing the awards ceremony, BAVF President John Fales said the following:

"Were honored to recognize Representatives Skelton and Bilirakis for their steadfast support of veterans rights and services...These national leaders continually stand up for the millions of women and men who have served or are now serving our country, and for their families. The entire veterans community joins us in applauding these heroes for their friendship, trust, and constant devotion to veterans issues."
