This notice is issued by the NASA/KSC to post a Request for Information (RFI) via the internet, and solicit responses from interested parties.
The purpose of this RFI is to identify potential interest in providing console enclosures for use in the KSC Launch Control System as described herein and in the attached document(s).
This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition.
Prospective offerors are invited to submit written comments or questions to: Rogelio Curiel, no later than 12/17/08. When responding reference solicitation number.
Vendors having the capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to submit appropriate documentation, literature, brochures, and references.
Responses must include the following: name and address of firm, size of business; average annual revenue for past 3 years and number of employees; ownership; whether they are large, small, small disadvantaged, 8(a), HUBZone, and/or woman-owned; number of years in business; affiliate information: parent company, joint venture partners, potential teaming partners, prime contractor (if potential sub) or subcontractors (if potential prime).
Please advise if the requirement is considered to be a commercial or commercial-type product. A commercial item is defined in FAR 2.101.
This RFI is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. Respondents will not be notified of the results.

No solicitation exists; therefore, do not request a copy of the solicitation. Prior to release of any solicitation for this effort, a pre-award synopsis will be posted on the Government-wide FedBizOpps point of entry at URL http://www.fedbizopps.gov and on the NASA Acquisition Internet Service. It is the offeror’s responsibility to monitor these sites for the release of any solicitation or synopsis.
An ombudsman has been appointed -- See NASA Specific Note "B".
The solicitation and any documents related to this procurement will be available over the Internet. These documents will reside on a World Wide Web (WWW) server, which may be accessed using a WWW browser application.
