NASA's Jet Propulsion Laboratory in Pasadena, Calif., will host the First Annual Small Business Symposium and Awards Ceremony on November 17 and 18, 2008 at The Washington Hilton in Washington, D.C.
JPL is managed for NASA by the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena.
OBJECTIVE: The theme of the Symposium is "NASA--Where Small Business Can Make a Big Difference." The Symposium provides a forum for small business attendees to learn about NASA/JPL plans for future missions in Space and Earth Science, including associated programs, initiatives, and business and/or teaming opportunities. Both the Agency and the Laboratory are committed to doing business with small businesses and seek to expand their respective supplier base for future technical requirements.
Additionally, attendees will learn about the skills, resources and technologies needed to achieve NASA’s missions, programs and research. Networking with NASA, JPL and prime contractors will be the objective throughout the two-day event. Participation is open to industry, academia and domestic small businesses.
PLENARY SESSIONS: Plenary sessions will address topics in the areas of Procurement, Missions Updates, and How to Do Business with JPL and NASA.
NASA AWARDS CEREMONY: NASA’s Small Business Industry and Advocates Awards will be featured on the second day to acknowledge the outstanding contributions made by NASA employees as well as industry representatives in support of the agency’s Small Business Program.
