NASA/GSFC has a requirement for a Automated Filament Fusion Splicing Workstation, (FFS-2000) with the options of built-in-Proof Tester/Tension Tester, PM Rotation, and LDF Option. Lead-time for delivery is 14-16 weeks.
NASA/GSFC intends to purchase the items from VYTRAN LLC. The results from the market research identified Vytran LLC as the only company capable of providing the above services.
The authority is FAR 13.106 (v)(1) only one source reasonably available.
The Government intends to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.
DO Rating is DO-C9. This synopsis shall not be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information solicited.

Such capabilities/qualifications will be evaluated solely for the purpose of determining whether or not to conduct this procurement on a competitive basis. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed effort on a full and open competition basis, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the government.
