The 2009 Congressional Art Competition, An Artistic Discovery, will feature exceptional artwork from high school students in all 435 congressional districts. This is an excellent opportunity for you to showcase your artistic talents.

The Congressional Art Competition is open to all high school students in the Third District of Kansas.

All entry forms must be received via email, postal mail or fax (913-621-1533) by Friday, April 3, 2009, at 5:00 pm. The entries must be designed according to the specifications in the competition guidelines (see below).

Submissions will be on display and judged on Friday, April 17th from 4pm-6pm at the Roeland Park City Hall (4600 W. 51st Street).

The winning piece from each district will hang in the tunnel leading to the United Stated Capitol building in Washington, D.C., for a period of one year. In addition, the 2009 Congressional Art Competition winner from the Third District will receive transportation for three to Washington, D.C., for the ribbon-cutting event to unveil all of the 2009 winners.
